I just love this series of books. They are fun, imaginative, clever, and well written. Naturally, this is a Permanent Collection. I am posting it on here because I am going to let mbmeadow borrow it! This is one reason that I am so excited about BC. Now I can actually keep track of the books I lend out to people!!

Thanks for lending me the books. I just happened to crack the cover and see you'd put an ID on them, so I figured you'd want me to make a journal entry. It'll probably be a week or so before I can start reading them in earnest, but I'm intrigued by the couple of pages I did read.

This first book was very clever and funny. I'll just recap what I said in e-mail, in that I loved some of the clever bits, like when the bookmarks farted ampersands and random capitalization. I also loved all the names and the wordplay. Had been talking to someone at work, who independently recommended these books to me, and I told him I was getting ready to borrow them from someone else. He said yeah, he and his wife really liked them a lot, and knew when they missed a good literary joke. They didn't necessarily know every little reference, but they definitely knew. I like that. A very smart book. A world where people love authors so much they'll change their name. Although I can't say I'd ever want to be John Milton 3500 or William Shakespeare 5000. Yuck! I'll be Marion Zimmer Bradley 2.
Can't think of the last time I got this excited about a series.
Anyway, thanks a bunch, wizardsheart. Putting this book back to reserved so that no one else thinks it's available. Am in the middle of reading Lost in a Good Book, and will look forward to borrowing the third.
