Slammerkin: A loose dress, a loose woman. Sounds interesting. Can't wait to read it! Thanks sstitch79!

This book is very dark and tragic. The lead character is very conflicted and manages to make all the wrong choices in life. The prologue gives away the ending. I suppose this was done because the story is based on fact. However, I would of liked to read the book without knowing how it all turns out. That is my only complaint. I found the life of Mary Saunders fascinating. This is one of the best books I have read recently.

I was completely absorbed by this book. It reminded me in a lot of ways of Sarah Waters writing but with not as many of the twists as Waters. Thanks so much for making it available to me.
