Great fun, and a good introduction to Donna Leon's writing, which is fun for me, knowing Italian, and having visited Venice. It's obvious she's spent many years in this area from the details that are contained in the book. A fun read. I can see why others have enjoyed Commissario Brunetti.

This book took me happily through a flight to Wyoming. It is now on its way to Virginia. Detective Brunetti and the story of his work are more realisitic and believable than the heros/heroines of many of the books I've read.

DUH... forgot to log in! I'm the book stacker (as opposed to the book stalker?!)...
Great airplane read... and then returned to its original owner. Maybe she'll release it somewhere so it can do some MORE travelling! The story was a fantastic thrill, the mystery kept me guessing (sometimes right, sometimes wrong), the Italian made me hungry for PASTA!

What a lovely surprise! Thank you. I do love Venice, so I'll look forward to dipping into this Italian treat. Molto grazie!
I'm not normally into mysteries, but this one was like taking a short trip to Venice...lovely! I loved Brunetti and his wife who cheats at Monopoly! Thanks for thinking of me with this one. Now to think of someone else to surprise...

Oh what a nice Italian-theme surprise in my mailbox today!
This seems like the perfect read on our trip to Italy next month. And maybe I'll release it in Venice (my first time there)!
Thanks so much, fsr44 - and hello svetlanazukas!

Now how perfect is this: read this delicious mystery set in Venice on the train to Venice yesterday - and in Venice at our hotel overlooking the lagoon at S. Zaccaria! Our first time here - what a wonderful city to visit with the bonus of beautiful weather.
Plan to release tomorrow at the actual La Fenice opera house - which I understand has just recently reopened after a long reconstruction after a fire.
Thanks again, svetlanazukas! (having a cappuccino here in your honor!)
