I really enjoyed this mammoth, magnificent epic about Marco Polo. Hard to know what is true and what isn't, but it's all good, colourful, exciting storytelling that tells you a lot about a particular historical period and place(s). Spangle and Aztec and Raptor are others in the same vein, each dealing with quite different worlds, each a wonderful tale.

You'll find love and hate, sweetness and savagery in this rambling yarn.

Released on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Australian-American Memorial in Russell, Australian Capital Territory Australia.

I've got a special reason for releasing this big thick square book here. In a short while, maybe today, maybe tomorrow, I'll be giving up my brief custodianship of rubyjules' Bookcrossing Journal http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/1266669 and it will be resuming its journey around the world, winding up back in Castleton Vermont some time in the future.

An epic journey, and I chose an epic book to mark its departure, here at the memorial commemorating the long alliance of Australia and the USA.

I finally caught a book! I'm looking forward to reading it and releasing it on.

Release planned for Monday, August 23, 2004 at Australian-American Memorial in Russell, Australian Capital Territory Australia.

As much as I tried, I couldn't get into this book. Rather than force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, I'll release it back where I found it for someone else. I'll release it at lunch time at the Australian-American Memorial.
