The 1st in the Abhorsen Trilogy. I never read the rest of them, simply because I don't have the time, but this book was pretty good. The story(as well as I can remember) is about this young girl who has inherited these powers from her uncle. She goes on a journey to kill something... I can't really remember. Deff a scifi book though it is set in a very Lord of the Rings-like atmosphere.
