The Family Tree

I really enjoyed the book the first time I read it simply because it surprised me. I had given up on the author because her previous books had become tedious and wordy. This one offers a new theme: old fashioned storytelling, where the reader is drawn in despite themsleves, into page turning hours. The two storylines merge seamlessly and the novel abides by the rules it has established. And the environmental parable is, for me, believable, urgent and true, without being preachy and staged.
I haven't read it yet, but I plan to. I found it cleaning the cafe tables at work .
