Received Friday in the mail. I did not have time last night to journal so it was by the computer to do so this a.m. My husband started reading it and said it was addictive. That is good endorsement if I ever heard one. Thanks so much for sending me this book!

Good story. It was a fast read but entertaining. I loved the shoe fetish (I am afflicted by that as well!). Fun vampire bits and I misted at the whole going and seeing those who thought you were dead. Very touching. I like this author and I would read more of her writing. I am reading the sequel actually "Undead and Unemployed" right now. I love the category for these two books: Paranormal Romance (LOL).

Thanks for trading!

This book came in the mail a couple of weeks ago and I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to make any journal entries. This book was a nice light read and I enjoyed it. I'm waiting for the next participant's address so I can get this off to them

I finished this book last night and will be sending it along as soon as I get an address. As for my thoughts...

I really enjoyed the book as I liked the slightly different take on the regular vampire story. I would definately recommend the book for other people to read. I have to say that I am slightly jealous about Betsy's shoe collection and Eric Sinclair's library, but hey you can't have everything.

Journal Entry 11 by sistert from Catonsville, Maryland USA on Monday, April 25, 2005
It's here and it sounds like a hoot! I'll get to it as soon as possible.

Journal Entry 12 by sistert from Catonsville, Maryland USA on Wednesday, May 4, 2005
A quick and fun read. Sort of like "Dracula" mixed with the movie "Clueless". Had a few new twists on the vampire mythology that I liked. My only real problem with the story was the too easy ending which I saw coming when I realized I was only a few pages away from finishing the book and the story hadn't wrapped up yet. Not that it was a bad ending, just not meaty enough to go with the rest of the story. Oh and the sudden blatant sex scene at the end was a surprise. I'm far from a prude, it's just that the author only makes references to the sex for more than 3/4 of the book and then... PG-13 this ain't!

I'm adding her other books to my wish list though. They'd make good rainy day and/or beach reads.

Contacting drommie1810 now so I can send this one on.

drommie1810 already acquired a copy so this is off to cougmax instead. Enjoy!

Journal Entry 14 by cougmax from Seattle, Washington USA on Wednesday, June 15, 2005
Received and already half way through it! It's a cute new spin on chick lit! Women's fiction with fangs!

Journal Entry 15 by cougmax from Seattle, Washington USA on Sunday, June 19, 2005
Finished tonight. I agree with sistert, not too many surprises, pretty much a formula romance with good guys beating out bad guys... The Vampire twist was fun and new, but the heroine cussing with sarcasm every time she spoke was old and unfunny. I felt the book could have been a whole lot better if the author had tried a bit harder to find some new abjectives. I'm not a prude by any means, just the writing seemed really sophmoric must of the way through it. I'm on the fence about whether I would recommend it. If they are already in to vampires it might be funny otherwise I would pass.
Thanks for the wonderful bookring all the same!
Will pm booksnbeer now!

sent on to booksnbeer last Thurs

edit -
baseball card is just a silly bookmark!
I am glad you like it. I bought a ton of old baseball cards at a garage sale years ago and have been tossing them into books as I send them out. Sometimes gives people a giggle when they see an old player they remember.

Received this in yesterdays mail. Perfect timing - I'm going to the beach next week and this looks like a great beach book.

Interesting thing was included in the book - a baseball card. Interesting because DC just got a baseball team and I'm now a big Nationals fan. Actually, I'm on my way to a game now. Anybody want to volunteer any additional information??

OK read. Reminded me of the character in the movie “Legally Blond”, and what if she woke up as a Vampire. Cute in the beginning, middle was sophomoric and the character got tiring, the ending was predictable. Oh well, I can’t like them all.

I already have the address for the next person, so I will be sending this out in tomorrows post.

Journal Entry 19 by Suebo from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA on Wednesday, July 27, 2005
Book arrived safe and sound in Philly, PA. Thanks!

Came today, yay! Will be starting it right away!

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I, too, was a little surprised at the sudden R rated sex scene at the end of the book, but it certainly didn't bother me any, it just wasn't in keeping with the previous mentions of sex. The only thing I didn't really like was Jessica, in my head I picture her as a character in a cartoon or a comic book, the way she was always giggling or chortling, just the way her whole character was described. But that aside, I will definitely be on the lookout for the authors other books. Thanks Doris, and this is in the mail now to the next person!

Cute book. At the beginning I was unimpressed with what seemed like extreme fluff. I guess the fluff never went away but I got used to Betsy's character and the book got more enjoyable. I would read more of these books, I think they'll get more interesting as she learns her way around her vampire kingdom.

This book was caught via US mail and I tore into it as soon as I received it. So far so fun and I will be contacting the next person shortly.

Journal Entry 26 by AnitaNovel from Chicago, Illinois USA on Sunday, October 2, 2005
Lighthearted, fast, off color and just unrealistic enough to be really fun. I got a kick out of Betsy's ethics and antics. This isn't a book for the younger or more sensitive readers as there is nothing subtle about vampire romancing. I enjoyed the book and thank winery1955 for sharing. This was a new author for me. And as we come up to halloween it was a heck of a lot of fun to read a vampire story. I will be reaching out to Jamieh2003 and mail the book as soon as I get the address.

What can I say? I am so loving the humor/romance/vampire books! This one was just as readable as A Girl's Guide to Vampires...maybe more so.

An excellent read!!

I will be sending it off to Canada as soon as I get an address :-)
