I think I enjoyed this one more than his previous 2 books. Probably because there wasn't as much graphic content in it. The abuse he suffered makes me sick.
I know the anxiety that he felt at trying to figure out his life and to what was best for his son. I think Dave turned out to be a wonderful man.

Arrived today! thanks for passing this book along! Cant wait to finish the series.
This was my favorite book among the three in the series of David Pelzer's life. His first two books share the story of his horrific childhood and experiences within the foster care system. In this book, Dave gives us a peek inside the man, and the child who survived horrendous abuse. Determined not to repeat the cycle, Dave struggles to find his identity, come to peace with his parents and be the best dad he can be. I am amazed at his courage and determination. He is an inspiration to all.

This came in the mail today and since Twixxy's at the beach for a few more days, I thought I would journal it. In fact, I think I'll surprise her with a copy of *The Lost Boy* from B. Dalton and she can read everything in order.
Thanks so much, narfinmagic!
Thanks so much, narfinmagic!
Twixxy thought this was "too sad" so she didn't finish it.
I read a bit of A Child Called "It" when our 8th graders were studying from it and found it way too sad. I thought this would be about his adult life, so I took a chance and read the first 50 pages -- still lots of unspeakable incidents. I don't think it shows much "forgiveness", either, but maybe that comes at the end.
This is so popular I released it at a state visitors' center. I'm sure it will find a welcoming new reader there.
