An ancient secret brotherhood.
A devastating new weapon of destruction.
An unthinkable target.

World-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a cryptic symbol seared into the chest of a murdered physicist. What he discovers is unimaginable: a deadly vendetta against the Catholic Church by a centuries-old underground organization -- the Illuminati. Desperate to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb, Langdon joins forces in Rome with the beautiful and mysterious scientist Vittoria Vetra. Together they embark on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth...the long-forgotten Illuminati lair.

This was written before The DaVinci Code, but most of us read it afterwards. I enjoyed this one almost as much as I did The DaVinci Code. What a great read!

Since it's on the wishlist of so many folks, I thought I'd start a bookring for this.

I enjoyed this book so much. I liked it better than the DaVinci Code. This book seem to have more of a straight forward storyline and there was alot of explaination of the Catholic faith. I found it enjoyable, entertaining and interesting.

It is being mailed today to Atnaturesmercy.

I just received this one today! I will start on it soon, as there's another bookring ahead of it. :)

This one traveled with me to the Bahamas last week and I must say, it was a great beach companion! I think I enjoyed Angels & Demons more than the Da Vinci Code since it explained a lot about the Catholic faith and seemed to have more twists and turns too.

Will be mailing this to jenvince this week ASAP.

Ack! Why do all bookrings arrive at the same time?!?!?! LOL! I was told this would happen...but of course I didn't think it could happen to *me*!

I have about 6 rings to read ahead of this one. I do read fast, so should get to this one sooner than later. I've been wanting to read this ever since I read The DaVinci Code, so I may have to sneak it up on the pile (have heard it's a fast read) but don't tell. :)

Thank you for sharing!

Update 9/22:
I'm *almost* done with the book ahead of this one. I plan to start A & D within the next few days and should be able to send it on next week.

Update 9/23:
Am able to start this...right now! :)

Angels & Demons arrived today. I've got a few chapters to go on my current bookring and this is next in line.

Once I had the chance to really sit and read this book, I was sucked right into the story. I liked having the chance to find out more about Robert Langdon. It was a bit more violent than I expected. Although I was very happy to suspend my disbelief for much of the story, I thought the last quater of the book pushed it a bit. That being said, I still couldn't wait to find out what happened. Thanks very much JeepACV!

Mailed off today to Kislany.

* Nov. 3 - update. This was sent back to me because of a problem with the postage and address. So it finally went on its way a few days ago. Sorry for the delay.

Journal Entry 12 by Kislany on Wednesday, January 19, 2005
Received it this morning, thanks for sending it to me. I have 3 rings in front of this one (and yeah, last week I didn't have any as per Murphy's law). I will try to read it as soon as possible and send it off to the next one.

Journal Entry 13 by Kislany on Wednesday, January 19, 2005
I have just realised that I accepted the same book on the bookrelay a few weeks ago (completely forgot that I also signed up for the ring!). Since the bookring has been on its way to me from last October, I will get the address of the next participant and send it off in a few days when I go again to the post office, as to not delay it any further. I know it's a very popular book and many are still behind me to read it. Will journal again once the book hit the road.

Like most of the others on this ring,I also preferred it to Da Vinci !
I am an (amateur) student of the Illuminati, and found it fairly convincing in that respect, although I did find myself saying 'No...no...' on occasion.
That said.....it's a damn fine read, that kept me page-turning way into the early hours.
Will be posting this on first thing in the morning.

Woohoo! Caught this in the mail this evening. I'll start it tonight. Thanks JeepACV for starting this bookring.

I hated The Da Vinci Code, I really did, so imagine my pleasant surprise at being able to enjoy this book so much!

Unlike The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons is fairly fast paced and, it isn't laced with lectures every 2 pages. Basically though the story follows the same formula, but this time it works. I actually could not put it down. I was up at 3AM this morning finishing it.

While the ending was a little out there, over all I was still on the edge of my seat, pulled by the action until the last few pages.

Thanks so much for sharing this book. It was loads of fun!

PM'ed the next person on the list, awaiting their response.
