Going to Australia in mbag to Libertine101
Tommy Hanks...wonder if Libby has the hots for HIM. Seems to be that JP bloke that I have never heard of.
Anyway wonder how this fits in with the current orange phase of Libb's life.
I am sure we will soon hear.
Hugs and kisses to TL and L

Hey, newk, I am going through PINK phase, not orange!
And no, I don't have the hots for Tom Hanks :P I only have eyes for Joaquin Phoenix...(and maybe Orlando Bloom ;) )
Thank you tomatolady for the book! I saw the film and loved it. The bf read the book ages ago and said it was very good, so I am sure to enjoy this.
Thanks!

I'm ashamed to say that this book got lost in my bookshelves.
I have finally read it and will be passing it on soon.
I MUST rewatch the film now!
My review:
So well written. I got a real feeling of the characters and the settings thanks to the vivid details, the way the characters spoke, and the cleverly thought out plot.
Curiously, I found myself as interested in the story set in the 30's as I was of the one in the 'present day'. I thought that jump in the narrative was going to be jarring or just plain interfering with the main story, but it wasn't at all.
There are some supernatural elements to this story but the actual monsters in this book are some of the people, themselves - from the criminals, to some of the law enforcement officers, to the law, and to the society that permits racism to flourish and capital punishment to exist.
