These editions are designed especially for students of English as a second language. The full text of each play is accompanied by notes that have been written within a controlled vocabulary of 3,000 words and with the requirements of the Cambridge Overseas School Certificate and similar examinations in mind.
Each volume contains an introduction with full notes on the characters in the play, a note on the language of the play covering metaphor, simile and imagery, and a note on the dramatic construction of the play. Then follows the play with the detailed notes set immediately facing the text ot which they refer. Both linguistic and textual difficulties are covered and there is a general note on each scene. There is a full glossary of words in the play outside the 3,000-word vocabulary and an appendix giving hints on the answering of examination context and essay questions.
Attractive line drawings which are based on contemporary sources and which assist in explaining difficulties in the text, are included in each volume.

Ich habe heute die beiden Bücher von Dir (Romeo and Juliet; Romeo und Julia) im Briefkasten vorgefunden.
- Today I found your two books (Romeo and Juliet; Romeo und Julia (the german version)) in my letterbox.
Dann werde ich mal mein Englisch aufbessern.
Because of this I will improve my Englisch.

Tja, für mich war dies der Beweis, dass ich noch viel an meinem englisch tun muss....

Took it with me at the first meet up in Bochum, as it was still available after everybody had chosen the books they wanted to read. I'm not going to read it (have already got Shakespeare's complete works here), but I think I will release it in Stuttgart next week and just make it travel a bit...

Took it to yesterday's meet-up in Dortmund yesterday. Don't know whether anyone has taken it home, but I don't think so. It's probably in Dortmund's OBCZ now.

Das Tolle an diesem Buch sind die vielen kleinen handschriftlichen Eintragungen, Anmerkungen! Da hat jd. wirklich sorgfältig gelesen und gearbeitet - fast so spannend wie die Story selbst :o)
