I first read "Bridge of San Luis Rey" in high school, and while I didn't dislike it, I don't remember being terribly impressed at the time. I re-read it several years ago and found that it had improved wonderfully {grin}. Suddenly I found the characters involving, and their seemingly arbitrary fates fascinating. So when I came across this yellowed-but-sound '69 paperback [different cover than that shown] in the swap shop of Nashua's Four Hills landfill/recycle center, I decided to tag it and pass it along.
