This is a classic "Whodunit" for upper elementary and middle school students. It was a quick read for me, but since I'm horrible at prediction and solving things in books, it was fun, too.

Back of book:

"'I, Samuel W. Westing, declare this to be my lsat will and testament and do hereby swear that I did not die of natural cuases. My life was taken from me -- by one of you!'

"Who dares play the Westing Game? Sixteen players are possible heirs to Sam Westing's fortune. And all of them are suspects in the case of his curious demise. The one who discovers the villain's identity wins $200 million...and the losers lose all!

"Can you solve the mystery before they do? Only YOU have all the clues. But you're competing against some very clever players -- including Doug Hoo, the high school track star...Angela Wexler, a beautiful bride-to-be...Turtle Wexler, her thirteen-year-old shin-kicking sister...Chris, fifteen, who sees everything from his window, a stuck-up doctor's wife, and the grumbling Chinese restaurant owner. They all have a hidden motive. But remember -- nothing is what it seems to be."

RELEASE NOTES:

Sending to Future Cat for the New Zealand Convention.

Journal Entry 3 by futurecat from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Monday, April 18, 2005
A huge sack of books arrived today - too late for the convention, unfortunately, but they'll still be greatly appreciated by the Christchurch Bookcrossers, and a few might end up travelling over to Australia for the Brisbane convention in June.

I've heard of this book before, I think (was it made into a movie?), but never read it. It sounds interesting enough to need a detour to my TBR pile, anyway ;-)

Many thanks nekki!

A fun book. Seeing as it's aimed at kids, I probably should be ashamed to say I didn't figure out the answer before the end - I'd got most of it, but missed one vital clue (I won't say anything more, for fear of spoilers). I blame the fact that I don't read many "whodunnit" mysteries (that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it! ;-) )
