The Batman Murders

Another of my son's favorites.
Looks like a good Batman mystery novel. Can't wait to curl up with it whenever I have some quiet time.
I enjoyed this book much more than expected. The well-crafted, complicated (grown-up) plot and dead-on character development made The Batman Murders a novel I could not put down. Even more than some Batman graphic novels, the Dark Night, Nightwing, Commissioner Gordon, and a host of secondary characters were brought to life vividly.
The story is about men who turn up dead at crime scenes dressed in Batman costumes. As the police and Batman try to figure this out, a church called The Church of Perpetual Happiness has appeared in Gotham. This cult-like church has already claimed one undercover officer. Batman asks Dick Grayson to go in. Having a strained relationship with his former mentor, who has just lost his second Robin to being blown up by the Joker, Dick is truly torn whether to help. Batman wants to assist Gordon in all these matters, yet is walking the fine line between working within and outside of the law.
A great story, highly recommended.
