Just recieved. I have a couple library books I need to read (as I'm moving back up to Sarasota next Monday), but I'll get to this as soon as possible.
Thanks for patience!

I've read Sheri S. Tepper before, but found her preachy and irritating.
I am so happy that my previous experiences did not stop me from reading this book.
"Grass" was very well written, and managed to have morals without being obnoxious about it. The portrayal of religious doubt -- and of a totalitarian religious system -- were excellent, well balanced and well composed. I wasn't quite so happy with the profusion of affection for the main female character -- really, a single person doesn't garner that much admiration, especially when they're a bit anal and somewhat repressed -- but as Tepper didn't make a big deal out of it, it didn't interfere with my enjoyment. The solution she offers to the central mystery was quite original, and tied in nicely with the rest of the book.
I apologize for the length of time this has been with me. I've been trying to get a ride to the post office for a month, but everytime I make arrangements, the person bails on me at the last minute. I promise, it *will* be mailed out this week. Even if I have to steal a car to do it.

Mailed out early yesterday.
Rec'd this bookring book today and will start it tonight.
This arrived today. It looks VERY interesting. I have 2 rings before it. Hmmmmm we shall see. Thank you!
I'm left unsure after reading this book. I found the relationship between the people and original inhabitants of Grass fascinating. I found all the religious discussion a little heavy. I found the book went on long than I needed it to. My favorite Sheri Tepper book is still The Gate to Women's Country.
I will send this book on its way next week. Thank you for sharing!
