I got this softcover from the bulk-purchase sale at a local Goodwill thrift shop. It tells, in rhyme, the story of two parakeets captured from their native forests and accidentally released in the wild in New England - where, against all odds, they successfully nest through the winter. Meanwhile, an owl nests in the same tree - and, occasionally, dines on parakeets, with the rhymes musing on the ups and downs of the circle of life. In this case, inspired by actual events, the parakeets and owls achieve a kind of detente, sharing the same tree for their nests...

I climbed over the frozen snowdrift to leave this book in the Little Free Library. Hope someone enjoys it!
