I found a few Penguin 60s in a charity shop in Uppsala last year and this was one of them. It's an excerpt from the book Sailing through China and Theroux describes when he travelled down the Yangtze River in 1980. A time when China was quite different. With him on the boat were several American millionaires and the way he writes about them in contrast to the Chinese people he talked to is really political. I haven't read anything by Paul before, as far as I can remember, but this one was quite good.
