Thank you so much my anonymous Secret Santa. This was one of my wish list books and can't wait to get stuck into it! Love all the gifts that came with it too

This was gut wrenching! - It tore me in every conceivable emotional direction and had me reeling by the time I reached the end of this story - A much wanted baby (Willow) is born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) type 111 and the mother Charlotte decides to file a lawsuit to sue her Obstetrician, who is also her best friend (Piper), for being medically negligent and failing to exercise due care and not giving her the option of having an abortion before it was too late. Her husband Sean is absolutely against the lawsuit which then threatens to split up their marriage.

The scenario affects the whole family. Charlotte also has another child (Amelia) from a previous relationship who is feeling abandoned and reacts drastically to gain some attention. They all love little Willow with a passion who is so clever, inciteful, funny and completely adorable.

There is also a subplot to the story with her Lawyer (Marin) who was adopted at birth and who has now instigated the first process of finding her real mother (the conclusion of which ended up being quite predictable).

At first I was totally against the lawsuit and then found myself agreeing with the mother and then later I would be siding with the father and then backwards and forwards again. How was anybody really going to come up a winner?

A very moral careful what you wish for storyline but I loved it. I went to bed thinking about the book and woke up with the story still on my mind. This author pulls no punches!

Now to pick up a lighter read so that I can sleep peacefully again!
