I didn't expect to like this book that much. It started slowly, and I'm unfamiliar with Australian geography, so I thought I'd get lost in the details. But this was not the case. The baby washes to shore and you're suddenly hooked. Then the story just keeps coming, and unfolding, and I found myself reading for longer and longer periods of time.
My mother's book club read this book and she said they were pretty evenly divided about liking the ending. I don't want to give anything away, but I hated it. I was so disappointed at the timing of the ending. But it did not deter from how much I enjoyed the book.
I can't wait to read this author's next work. Oh, and if you like this book, I recommend 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society." The style is very similar.

Left on a plant table outside. Enjoy!
