1993 Scholastic trade paperback of #35 in the orphaned children series. In this one, our young sibling heroes meet all kinds of dogs, but strange things start happening. I found this copy today in the Wisconsin Little Free Library.

I can let this go after I read:
1942 The Boxcar Children [read 2018]
1961 Blue Bay Mystery [read 2020]
1962 The Woodshed Mystery [read 2023]
1965 Schoolhouse Mystery [read 2023]
1968 Snowbound Mystery [read 2024]
1973 Mystery Behind the Wall [read 2021]
1976 Benny Uncovers a Mystery [read 2023]
1992 The Mystery of the Singing Ghost [read 2022]
1993 The Mystery in the Snow [read 2022]

Edit November 9, 2024: This was good, but I just skimmed to end for time. It's for young readers, and runs short. I currently have this ranked at #7808 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
