Journal Entry 1 by wingBookgirrlwing from Acton, Ontario Canada on Friday, November 8, 2024
A recent arrival at our Little Free Library, #95058 in North Halton, Ontario. It's a riveting read. I am going to repeat my original journal entry, having read this book a couple of years ago. "Wow...an extraordinary book. It will make you angry, frustrated, worried, hopeful, thankful, relieved....so many emotions. In the end, I was furious with the crazy father and his milquetoast wife. Tara Westover and her six siblings endure a verbally abusive, neglectful, violent upbringing. The dad really is crazy. He is delusional, ranting about righteousness, chastity, and all the while putting his children through dangerous situations, claiming God will protect everyone. Burns, breaks, cuts - almost being killed...and nope, we're not going to the hospital. Nor are we going to send the kids to school or have anything to do with government. (No birth certificates, no taxes paid, etc.) Those institutions have been infiltrated by the devil. We must prepare for the end of the world. To see the author of this book come through the fire and come out the other end is glorious. She is victorious! You will be rooting for Tara all through the book."
