This is one of the standard novels on pre revolutionary Russia but sadly it didn't do it for me. My impression was that this is one of those books Kipling disliked for being about whther the heroine would marry this one or that one. (Ki[pling was referring to Jane Austen and the like but still)
I didn't finish this one but would recommend for insight into revolutionary psycopathology and political intrigue
