The story follows two women, Josie and Arlette, who are agents for the French resistance. The story goes back-and-forth in time which at sometimes I found confusing. The author takes modern sentiments and views and puts them into her characters back in the 1940s. This in my opinion, distracted from the story and the authenticity of the time. It really bothers me when authors do this. This is the reason for my rating.
