I got this softcover at a local thrift shop, for another release copy.

I've been entertained by this snarky version of a religion for some time, and wanted to read the, um, source document on Pastafarianism. Turns out that it's not quite as amusing as I'd hoped, though it has its points:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was 'Arrrgh!' -- Piraticus 13:7"

Its humor is often deliberately silly, as when listing the sacred books of other faiths (the New Testicle?), and in general I think the "propaganda" and "swag" sections are more fun than the "blunders of science" segment. In "propaganda" there's a lovely bit about welcoming new believers, including "Try us for thirty days and if you don't like us, your God will most likely take you back." The "swag" section includes an example of a pro-noodly-appendage pamphlet and templates for your own pirate-fish-fossil graphic, among other things.

I left this book in the Little Free Library. (The ghostly white figure reflected in the LFL window is a nearby sculpture.) Hope someone enjoys the book!
