Kate Ivory is in luck: a new publishing company have signed her on, but when her new editor is first defrauded of all his money and then suspected of murder, it looks like it may all fall apart. Meanwhile Kate's mum Roz is involved with a shady character. Soon Kate is investigating again, with a little help from her friend Jon. This was a bit less engaging than some of the others in the series but still enjoyable.
