The Maid
1 journaler for this copy...
I signed up for a number of giveaways for this book on GoodReads, but was never selected to receive a copy, so when I saw this copy in a Little Free Library in the neighborhood, I grabbed it to add to my TBR mountain range.

As a "who-done-it" type mystery, this book checks many of the boxes. The police focus on the wrong suspect, we have a number of shady characters, any of whom could be our killer, and a nice surprise reveal at the end. But what makes this book stand apart from other formulaic mysteries is the voice of the narrator. The story is told from the point of view of a hotel maid, those overworked and mostly overlooked workers who keep the rooms we stay in clean. In this case, our narrator is neurodivergent, and the author does a great job of telling a complicated story from the point of view of someone who doesn't quite see things the way everyone else does. With the right mix of humor and suspense, I found this book to be quite entertaining.
