It's been a while since I read this, but I recall it as very complex and disturbing. Takes place in postwar Germany, people trying to lead some kind of normal life after having experienced (or done) the unthinkable.
i plan on reading the book and passing it on!

I found the book less disturbing than I thought it would otherwise be however, I did expect really disturbing. I would call it an unusual book which kept me interested until the very end.
