When first the wreck of a fishing boat and then the dead body of a young woman are found on the beach near Marsden Rock, it's DCI Ryan and team who are called in to investigate the death. Ryan's team are the murder squad, but they quickly realise that this is people-trafficking, organised crime where often the police only catch a few of the minor players rather than the big fish. The women, who have come from Thailand in search of a better life, thinking that they'll be working in nail bars, are treated horrifically by men who treat them as a commodity. (It's awful to think that this is really happening to women every day.) This is another action-packed and readable episode from L.J. Ross.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
On its way to yorkshire-lass, first in the ray.
This arrived yesterday and I'm already reading it. I hope to be able to post to Cross-patch next week.
Yet again another very good read. The subject matter covered in this is very difficult to read about, but if these sort of things are not talked about openly they will just carry on in the shadows.
Posted on to Cross-patch this morning.
