Asian bookbox; When police dog Hero is retired, he is placed with his handler's family, with teen Ben taking primary responsibility. Ben and Hero find a stray puppy that they find out is part of a dog fighting ring. Hero's police skills are a bit much, but all turns out well in the end.

Heading to another BC'r who will release it.

I hope to be able to give it a quick read in the next month. The description somehow brought to mind a book I loved as a child called Follow My Leader about a boy who lost his sight due when a firecracker went off in his face, and he was assigned Leader, a"seeing eye dog" to help him adjust. Very different stories, but still, I'm glad to be reminded of a childhood favorite and have the chance to read an share a book new to me.

Today’s quiet afternoon was the perfect opportunity to enter into the world oh Hero, Scout, and the humans (good ones and cruel ones) who surround them. It’s also a story of many levels of friendship and responsibility.
Tucking this safely away until the Trip to Kensington. Thanks again for sending.
