So, far everything I have read by Andrea Levy has been marvellous, and this book is no exception. Great story about a British woman with Jamaican parents travelling abck to Jamaica to learn about her family. Funny and touching in turns, but never cheesy.

I love lemony things as does a chum so I thought I would seek this out to pass onto her, see if I can raise another interest in bookcrossing! Meanwhile though bookfrogster has headed me off at the pass with request to forward this book onto someone else so my request has turned into a wee ray!
Arrived on Wed 14 Dec (by recorded delivery, my first ever bookcrossing book arrival by recorded delivery!) sadly I was out. But it being Christmas and the Post Office being hounded by customers wanting to pick up Christmas gifts ~ it was open this Sunday morning! Have two other ring books on hand so won't be able to read this till after Christmas. Have peaked and it looks like a rare treat!

This was a great treat, what a wonderful voice Andrea Levy has I felt like a documentary camera man shooting over Faith’s shoulder. I really liked Faith Jackson, her family, and the journey she took us along on. The dry, wry sense of humour snuck up and bit you in the bum while the careful choice of descriptive movement and dialogue revealed inner thoughts so compassionately that even some of the more curious actions of some the gaggle of relatives were understandable. So clearly I will be happy to read more by Andrea Levy.

Am seeing bookfrogster ~waving Hi just now~ on Sunday 29 Jan 06 so will pass this back then. Thanks bookfrogster, your choice brilliant as ever!
