I've read this memoir twice, the fist 30 years ago, the second recently. The first time it was just the story line which really interested me (very bright child grows up initially in the far west of NSW, then in Sydney and what it took to achieve academic success). This time is was Conway's observations and reflections on the history and social development of Australia which interested me. Both worth reading the book for, though in the second read I found her voice just a little strident.
