Prologue

What do you think the shooter was practicing? It certainly was unfortunate the lady saw him and said something.

I thought it was funny that Joanna only walked around nude when she knew her mother was so far away on a cruise. I think it is funny how we as adults are still trying to please our parents. I know I still try at times before I give up!

Chapter 1
Pretty much a rehash of previous books for this chapter.

Do you think it is odd that Joanna is concerned for her feelings about Butch? Do you think it is too soon after Andy’s death for her to be involved with someone knew?

Sorry to hear that Esther isn’t doing very well. I think that would be so tough having a child that you can’t help and no have any hope.

Chapter 2
Belle certainly seemed to be a character! Couldn’t you just see her standing there with the cigarette hanging from her lip? I thought it was funny she fell through the floor too.

Who killed Clyde? Was it the man who killed the cattle?

Chapter 3
I don’t know why but this chapter seemed odd to me. Like the dialogue was off somewhat.

Do you think the shooter of the woman also killed Clyde?

Chapter 4
What a piece of work Fran Dailey is. Served her right that her valise fell into the crawl space.

Did Belle already know that Clyde was dead? I don’t think Belle killed him, but maybe she knew he was dead.

Chapter 5
I think Dick Voland better get over his crush on Joanna because she just isn’t interested in him. I think it is kind of cute he is worried for her safety though.

What did you think of Scorsby?

Didn’t you just love that Joanna covered him in dust?

Chapter 6
Couldn’t you just see Sonja’s kitchen and everything about her? Isn’t it funny how you just connect with some people right away.

I take it the step kids are not getting along with Sonja.

Chapter 7
Who is the murdered woman they found? What about Crow Woman? What do you call her Crow?

Chapter 8
This Fran Daly is someone I would not want to work with at all.

Why would someone pose the body?

Do you think Clyde killed himself because of AIDS? Could Belle possibly have helped kill him if that is the case that he does have AIDS?

Chapter 9
Fran Daley wore out Ernie’s patience in less than 30 minutes! Pretty funny!

It is terrible the victim was scalped that is for sure. I sure hope she was dead at that point.

I thought it ironic that Joanna realized that Andy and her dad didn’t mean to do what they did when they were on a case. I also that it showed real class that Joanna raised her glass to Andy.

Chapter 10
A serial killer on the loose isn’t good. Could this be tied to the Triple C? Is it Alton Hosfield’s son?

Is Joanna standing up Butch again?

Chapter 11
I’m glad Joanna had a quick breakfast with Butch.

What a piece of work Marliss is! I really dislike her. I couldn’t believe what she thought about poor Angie.

The little boy not believing Joanna was Sheriff was pretty funny too.

Chapter 12
Can you believe Fran Daley gave Joanna praise? Maybe she is just one of those abrasive people that do a really good job and you have to overlook their people skills.

Don’t you think Joanna should have called Butch herself?

I can understand how Marianne could be pissed at God and I think it was great of Joanna to ground her and tell her to get some sleep and eat.

How about Terry working for the investigations team? I thought that was neat of Joanna to tell him to talk to Frank Montoya.

Chapter 13
Can you believe the Indian dwellings had air conditioners?

What did you think of Crow Woman this time?

What about Daniel Berridge?

Chapter 14
What did you think about the conversation between Daniel and Joanna and how Andy and she had a fight the morning he was shot? I think we knew this though. I guess maybe readers did get that glimpse of Joanna but Marianne didn’t? Do you think this will help Daniel?

I can see where what Joanna said to Marliss could hurt her, but I still think it needed to be said.

Chapter 15
Were you surprised Butch was at the hospital? What do you think Butch wants to talk to Joanna about?

Belle is quite the character. Could it be that Sheriff Ramos is the one killing because his son is a homosexual?

Chapter 16
What did you think of Butch’s news about moving to Bisbee? Do you think he did the right thing by not telling Joanna until after he had made the move? What about the kiss? I still don’t like Butch as her romantic interest though.

Any ideas on who killed Clyde yet? Do you think it was the same person that killed the women still?

Chapter 17
Do you think Frankie is the shooter? Or, does Frankie know who the shooter is? Is Frankie dead too?

I felt sorry for Ruben Ramos, anyone else?

Chapter 18
I thought it was funny that Joanna overslept because I do believe this is more realistic. That put her as a real person for sure.

I think the killer is Alton’s son Ryan. He certainly has a problem with his step mom. Will Adam York be the agent helping again?

Chapter 19
So didn’t you just love the chat that Joanna had with Sarah Holcomb?

I felt so bad for Ruben Ramos to be there when they took the hood off his son and to see him scalped.

Chapter 20
I guess I just don’t like Butch to be around. I think it was nice he went to all that trouble but I just don’t like has a love interest for Joanna. I know exactly how she feels about having personal space when you have had a bad day. I am disappointed that Joanna is going to have sex with Butch first.

Chapter 21
I guess Butch is a nice guy, but I am still not thrilled with this relationship,.

Do you think Eddy knows who Frankie’s friend is? Is Eddy the shooter?

That is too bad about Esther and then Marianne not having her family around has to be doubly hard.

I liked how Joanna said they should take the Blazer so she would have a siren in case she needed to leave in a hurry.

Chapter 22
I was right, I think it is Alton Hosfield’s son. Didn’t know about the part though.

Eddy Sandoval was dirtier than I thought at first, how about you?

Esther dying sure makes this book true to life for me that is for sure. What did you think about Marianne asking Joanna to officiate the funeral?

Chapter 23
Kristen has sure changed in these latest books. She seems to have a lot more respect for Joanna.

What about Frank and Joanna going out to the Triple C and just have back-up on the perimeter?

I loved Frank’s comment to Voland, “Houston, we have a problem.” LOL

Chapter 24
How sad was this chapter? I felt so bad for Jake and Sarah. This is going to be real hard on Alton too.

Do you think it was a good idea to let Sarah ride with Joanna and Frank?

Chapter 25
Could you believe Sarah Hosfield shot her step-son? This was a very well written intense chapter in my opinion.

Chapter 26
Poor Frankie couldn’t spell, must not have been very good in school. I hope the letter gives Ruben some kind of peace knowing his son had a conscience.

Chapter 27
Eleanor never disappoints in the things she says to Joanna!

How about the trucker fiasco?

Epilogue
Did you think it was right that Sarah wouldn‘t let Alton bury Ryan in the family plot?

I have to say the end had me near tears. I loved the tugging of the ear thing between Joanna and Jenny, what a great touch!

I do wonder what Jenny said to Ruth though to calm her down.
