1996 Ballantine trade paperback of the 1993 tale of an unemployed elderly teacher who sets out to Italy, where she runs into her old soulmate and nemesis, a priest, unleashing storm clouds in their lives. I found this copy yesterday in the Jordan Little Free Library.
Edit March 4, 2024: This was good, but I just skimmed to end for time. It runs a bit long. I currently have this ranked at #4808 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
