I thought the first 95% of this book was excellent. Lois Lowry did a remarkable job creating a world that was so interesting, so logical, so complete in and of itself. I thought she did such an excellent job painting a concrete picture of this world and the difficulties the main character was having... and then, in the last few pages, the resolution didn't seem to fit at all. The time invested in describing the problem was not met, I didn't think, with the time invested in solving it. I will remember the first 95% of this book fondly!

Actually, I do know... it was the rest stop at mile 168 or so. Left on a bench.

I picked this up at a "Friends of the Library" book sale. Have had it for quite awhile. Always meant to read it, and now I have. I liked it, but would have to agree that the ending could have been done better. It truly didn't end, it just stopped. Still am glad I read it. Cheers!
