Mooching around Northallerton today. Bought in the British Heart Foundation.
Noticed on the back this had previously been for sale at 2.49 at oxfam.
"Do you have this childrens book I've heard about? It's supposed to be very good. It's called 'Lionel Richie and the Wardrobe."
Do you know, I'd quite like to read a book like that. This is a short little book of whimsical anecdotes of things customers have said to bookshop owners. Some are very funny and random, although it feels messed up how much people take Twilight and Harry Potter as fact... Emily Bronte had a lot to say about vampires.... lordy! There's also a depressing amount about the ignorance of the general public which I am sure all retailers have their stories about. Also how dumb people are. I mean, we don't have to all be bookworms, but to live in London and not know that English is spoken in Scotland... never underestimate the stupidity of the human race.
