This book showed up in our Little Free Library. Happy Christmas Eve!

Overall, I have mixed feelings regarding John Irving’s books. This one falls into the thumbs down category for me.
This book is a very slow rambling narration of the life of Adam Brewster, illegitimate son of former slalom skier, Rachel “Little Ray” Brewster. At page 180, Adam had barely made it out of puberty. With 700+ pages to go, I knew I wouldn’t finish this book.
The most interesting part were the books that affected Adam’s life. So far, the books mentioned were Moby Dick, Great Expectations, and Jane Eyre. Maybe somewhere on the internet, someone has finished reading this book and listed all the books mentioned!
