I really enjoyed this book, although I was a little uncertain given its length. Really enjoyed the multiple storylines and loads of characters. The author does a really good job of staying in the character of the time period (story takes lace during the New Zealand gold rush) to the point of omitting letters every time someone says « damned. » I liked how she brought the various threads together throughout the story. Despite its length it was a page turner, especially for the last third of the book.
