Thanks Trufflety, I've finished it! It's a quiet book, not at all what I expected, but not disappointing. There were no exciting twists and turns, just the lives of ordinary people. But they're interesting people in their own ways, and although you can put the book down, you know you'll pick it up again to see how they're getting on. It's a very thoughtful read on life, love and getting along. I enjoyed it. I agree with Trufflety - I'll probably only read it once, but I'll remember the characters for a long time.
