2003 David Fickling hardcover, with dust jacket, subtitled, "This cat must learn to fight." A debut British novel, about a Mesopotamian Blue kitten who learns the Way, a secret martial art for cats, as he ventures out to survive in a city full of dangerous dogs, cat gangs, and strangest of all, the mysterious Vanishings. Illustrated by Dave McKean. I found this copy a couple weeks ago in the Forest Ave. Little Free Library in Castro Valley.

Edit November 29, 2023: This was good, but I just skimmed to end for time. I currently have this ranked at #709 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
