Taken away from the Pop-up shop to register. Perfect book for the 666;reading challenge.
A very quick read, finished it in a day. I was nearly half way through the book before I realised it was a novel as the story read very much like I imagine was the writer's own life.
It was mostly set in Nepal and the story was of a trek to the Annapurna mountains. Less about the scenery than the hard work of trekking and the main character's innermost thoughts and fears through his constant physical and praying rituals. The threat of the Maoists (hadn't heard of these people before) attacking them became real as well as other tragedies and dramas along the way.
