Left in my street library.
What a tale of intrigue and twists and turns. When I reached a third of the way in, I was as surprised as Sue at the apparent double cross. This was a book I wanted to keep reading, only to discover intrigue all the way to the end. My only small disappointment was the ending, which I thought a little too contrived.
A very well constructed story and I loved the atmosphere of the era which I think Sarah Waters managed admirably.
