I got this softcover from an online seller. (It's one of the author's "Dead Seasons" collections, along with Dead Leaves.) The author's introduction explains the origin of some of the stories - as very, very macabre Christmas cards! - and the tales do delve into some dark areas, from a disaffected Father Christmas to the wrenching "Visitation Rights" to "They Know" and its study of the effects of guilt.
The author includes a list of recommended books for reading during wintry snowstorms, and I was pleased to see a number of my favorites there.
