I got this softcover from an online seller. (It's one of the author's "Dead Seasons" collections, along with Dead of Winter.)

There are some nicely chilling stories here, including "Andromeda" - in which a teen girl who's addicted to her smartphone finds the world tilting in a horrifying way. "How the Night Receives Them" is a lyrical, poignant tale about a ghostly victim receiving a ride and a bit of comfort after her grisly death. "Will You Tell Them I Died Quietly?" features an increasingly frightening funeral service and a man whose family has been haunted - or cursed - by the Yawning Thing.

The author includes a list of recommended books and movies, a nice touch.

I left this book nestled among the pumpkins near the eye-catching hay-bale giant; hope someone enjoys it!
