From a little free library, looking forward to reading it.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a captivating novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid that immerses readers in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's golden age. The story unfolds through the eyes of Monique Grant, a struggling journalist unexpectedly chosen by the reclusive and legendary actress, Evelyn Hugo, to chronicle her life.
As Evelyn unfurls her extraordinary tale, readers are drawn into a world of ambition, love, loss, and the relentless pursuit of fame. The novel masterfully weaves together the intricate tapestry of Evelyn's life, from her humble beginnings to her meteoric rise as a Hollywood icon. Her seven marriages, each marked by its own complexities and secrets, serve as a backdrop to a larger story of identity, sexuality, and the enduring power of love.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, the novel delves into profound themes of friendship, betrayal, and the sacrifices made in the name of success. With each passing chapter, readers develop a deep connection to Evelyn, understanding the woman behind the iconic screen persona. Reid's evocative writing style and meticulous character development make The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo a truly unforgettable reading experience. [these notes with help from Google’s Gemini]

Mailed to Aberpeter, to start this Bookring

The book is here. I will be starting it soon to keep the bookring moving.

What a phenomenal story The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was to read. My only disappointment was that I started the book on a Wednesday and life responsibilities (such as my job and family) kept getting in the way of me reading. Thankfully the weekend was right around the corner and I was able to dedicate the time needed to read this page-turner.
Evelyn Hugo is such a complicated character. From early on in her career she would do what it took to get what she wanted. To top it off, she knew how to keep a secret and how to manipulate the media to her benefit. You would think Evelyn had it all. But with this fame and power and the Evelyn Hugo brand, which she carefully and skillfully manufactured, she was unable (or unwilling) to be her true self, keeping the best part of herself out of the spotlight and far from the scandal it would create. It was guilt (or maybe just a need for closure) which prompts Evelyn into telling her full story to Monique, an unknown magazine reporter. Not only is Monique given the opportunity of a lifetime (writing a tell-all about the famous Evelyn Hugo), but she is also exposed to her own family secret that she was completely unaware of.
