This is a must read book. It’s a difficult subject matter and intense, but absolutely excellent. The story takes place in Afghanistan in the 1970s. It’s a perspective of Afghanistan that most Americans today do not know. The writing and the story are so moving. Please read it and journal on it here. I’d love to hear what you think. My son read it in high school and says it’s the book that got him interested in reading… now he owns a bookstore!
