A friend lent me this book last year and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It kind of reminded me of the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch. The second book is just as good, and I've enjoyed the podcast too, which has short stories set in the same universe read by different people.

It's taken me a while to get round to this one. I really enjoyed it. There are such great characters. I can't decide who my fave is. I love that it is a based at a newspaper that publishes stories of unexplained events. very irritating that the reviewers on the cover compare it to Pratchett. It is nothing like his writing. I think it is much better but also the writing style and the setting is very different to his books. Much more like Ben Aaronovitch as Discoverylover says. I have the next one on order from the library. Thanks very much for introducing me to this writer.

Passed on to Cassandra2020 at the Old Gang meet up. Happy reading!

I've been wanting to read this one ever since I read The Man With One of Those Faces (in his Caimh McDonnell persona) for an online book group last year. Love Pratchett, love Rivers of London and it's set in my hometown. This should be right up my street.
Thank you!
