Gender Queer
3 journalers for this copy...

In Gender Queer, Maia Kobabe has crafted an intensely cathartic autobiography about eir parth to identifying as nonbinary and asexual, and coming out to eir family and society. By addressing questions about gender identity - what it means and how to think about it - the story also doubles as a much-needed, useful, and touching guide.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Added in the Manga/Graphic novel/Comics bookbox.

I'm claiming this one from the Manga/Graphic Novel/Comics Bookbox 2023.

I found this graphic memoir to be extremely well done. It tackled a lot of difficult, thorny issues and was strikingly honest about them. I really loved the crisp, clear style of both the art and the lettering. Maia Kobabe is very talented and seemingly quite brave, as well. This is a book with a lot of heart.

The box of books arrived safely today; many thanks! I definitely wanted to read this one, and am rather surprised that it isn't on my wishlist - but now it doesn't have to be {grin}.
