Not actually about the birth of the venus ( which is what I thought ) but more of A venus.

I was a little disappointed by this book. It starts st the end ( as some books do) and then you go back to the beginning and eventually get to the end again.

The first chapter was captivating, but its not until you get to nearly the end of the book that I thought it got that good again.

Basically, a book of feminism in the 15th century in Florence. A bit of historical fact mixed in with fiction.

Why do authors think that we want to read Mills and Boon descriptions of sex and masturbation? I swear I will scream if one more author refers to the vagina as " her sex". This was the most disappointing thing about this book. Could have been a strong historical and artistic novel and have created a tense atmosphere but was ruined by the campy descriptions of sex. Thank God the main charecter ended up in a feminist nunnery ( she still managed to have sex there).
