Found this in a charity shop together with a fictional book written in 1938 (1950 edition) called 'Dr Bradley Remembers' by Francis Brett Young who based it on his medically trained relatives. I wanted to read them together to see how things have changed.
I enjoyed the light humour of his encounters with patients.
This was written 13 years ago so probably how a GP practice is managed has changed 10 fold but their were practices then (e.g. targets set to gain more money) that leave you wishing that an independent authority decided how they were managed instead of politicians.
I was disappointed in Daniels' sexist views throughout - with constant reference to the attractiveness of patients (I think he is trying to be funny) and the assumption that all nurses are female.
