This is a spare copy, for release. (I originally intended it for a book ray). I expect I'll take it to the Village Hall OBCZ. I put a pre-numbered label in this copy ages ago, but that seems to be one of the ones that has vanished from the database, so I'm giving it a new number. My copy also seems not to be on BookCrossing - I'll deal with that eventually....
Hard to categorise this book. It is a fantasy with a pre-teen protagonist, which should put it firmly in "children's", except that it is a send-up of fantasy conventions. It also belongs in a series: I've not read any of the others, but I don't get the impression they are children's books.
Bronwyn is a princess who is under a curse, and has to go on a quest to break it. The curse is that she is incapable of telling the truth. If her parents had been open about this, she could have been taught courtly manners, flattery, and so on. As it is, they haven't told her about the curse, leaving her - and everyone else - confused about her inability to express herself. During the book, however, she develops her own brand of biting sarcasm...
